Polishing belts are made for finishing both metals and hard woods. They are made with
silicon carbide crystals (800MX is Aluminum oxide) on a cloth backing and can be used
wet or dry. Using these belts will allow you to achieve a high gloss on the material being
polished. MX material is graded differently from standard abrasives. After sanding to a
conventional 400 grit, you would then go to 240MX and beyond.
